NOTE: Explorer Savings and Checking Accounts will automatically convert to regular accounts when the minor turns 18. NCUA Federally Insured Coverage on all accounts

ACCOUNT FEATURES AND BENEFITS

SAVINGS ACCOUNTS:

  • RATES - A significantly higher savings rate will be earned on the first $3,000 deposited. The regular savings rate will apply to funds over $3,000.
  • REWARDS - Rewards will be given to students for earned grades. Students can be awarded $5 for each A earned, per report card cycle.
  • $20 max per member, per report card. Offer good on current report cards only.
  • PRIZES - Increase your account balance by at least $50 during the quarter and you'll be entered to win one of five $100 cash prizes!
  • Prize changes, effective July 1, 2026.

    • CHECKING ACCOUNTS:

    • No minimum age for an account

    • No account fees

    • One debit card issued, in the minor’s name only.

    • Parental controls – spending limits are in place for each age bracket.

    Not available to minor accounts:

    • Checks

    • Bill Pay

    • Zelle

    • Joint/Guardians will not be issued a debit card.

    • Remote Deposit Capture can be added. Contact First Pioneers for set up.
