FRAUD/SCAM ALERT
In recent weeks some local credit unions have reported that they have been hit by a phishing scam. The fraudulent e-mail requests that members visit a link which brings you to a very realistic copy of the home-banking website. It asks customers to confirm their e-mail address with the existing database. The page that comes up when you click on the link asks that members "please enter your logon ID and security code."
Phishing is a high-tech scam that uses spam or pop-up messages to deceive unsuspecting consumers into disclosing sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, checking account information, social security numbers, passwords, etc.
BELOW ARE A FEW TIPS THAT CAN HELP YOU AVOID BEING HOOKED BY A PHISHING SCAM:

YOUR CREDIT UNION WOULD NEVER SEND YOU AN E-MAIL ASKING FOR YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION

DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY E-MAIL REQUESTS FOR PERSONAL FINANCIAL INFORMATION.

DELETE ANY SUSPICIOUS E-MAILS.

NEVER DISCLOSE ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IF REQUESTED FROM AN UNSOLICITED E-MAIL OR PHONE CALL. THIS INCLUDES ACCOUNT INFORMATION, CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME, OR OTHER PASSWORDS.

AlertMe monitors your Experian credit file daily. New accounts, credit cards over the credit limit, and address changes are just as few of the items that AlertMe monitors. If an activity occurs, AlertMe will send you an email alerting you to the activity. You can log into the service on our web site to read details about the activity amd determine whether it is suspicious.  CHRISTMAS CLUB ACCOUNTS
2008 Christmas Club Account Owners can now access your Christmas Club funds that you have saved all year. On November 1, 2008 these funds were deposited in your regular savings account. If there are any questions concerning this please call 337-233-8833.

ATTENTION TO ALL MEMBERS: First Pioneers has a new and improved E-Statement program. You can now sign up for e-statements to receive your statement online. It is simple as 1-2-3. Just sign in on your home banking to view your account. Once you are in home banking site, look to the left in the green column in the section that says BANK IT you will click on e-statements. With a click of a button you will complete a short profile sheet and your credit union statement will be ready to view online the following month. On the 1st business day after your statement is cut you will receive an email telling you that your statement is ready for viewing. You can then view or print your statement. Each month the statement will arrive within the first few days of the month.
Great news to all our members!!!! Bill Pay is now free! Previously, after the first three months of use we were charging $5.95 per month for this service. Now, our members can use this service for free. To sign up for bill pay today, call our office and have one of our friendly tellers get you started.
